Description
DIGESTIVE ENZYMES
Digestive enzymes break down food into smaller building blocks to facilitate their absorption by the body.
They are prevalent within the whole of the digestive system. Digestive enzymes are found in the saliva secreted by salivary glands, in the stomach secreted by cells lining the stomach, in pancreatic juice secreted by pancreatic exocrine cells, in the small and large intestinal secretions or as part of the lining of the gastrointestinal tract.
